Welcome to the application form for the K+ programme here at King's College London!
Are you eligible?
Before starting your application, please ensure that you are eligible for the programme.
For applicants, the eligibility criteria includes students who:
- are beginning their studies in Year 12, as of September 2019
- attend a non-selective state school/college within a London or Greater London borough
- Have 8 GCSE’s at grades 4-9/A*-C (including English and Maths), and within this a minimum of 5 grades 6-9’s (A*- B) [Please note Healthcare and Dentistry applicants should have a minimum of 5 grades 7-9]
- do not have parent(s) or carer(s) who have studied at university in the UK or abroad
Additionally, as long as you are in Year 12 and study at a non-selective state school in a London or Greater London borough we will consider all applications, even without meeting the below requirements (including GCSE grades), from students who:
For applicants who meet one of the descriptions above, we will prioritise their applications. There will be definitions of the above terms provided at the point you will be able to declare them.
Please note we will verify all statuses.
Teacher contact details
You will also be asked to provide contact details of a teacher within your school/college so that we can get in touch with them to verify your application. This should be either your:
- Head of sixth form/college-HE/UCAS advisor
- Your tutor
- The teacher who told you about K+
Please ensure you let them know that we will be in touch.
Your Personal Statement
This part of the application is your opportunity to tell us more about yourself, your future aspirations, why you want to be on the K+ programme, and what you think you'll gain from your participation.
Please tell us in no more than 800 characters for each section:
Section 1: Why are you interested in the subject area you want to study?
Section 2: Why do you want to be a part of K+?
Section 3: Why do you want to progress onto university?
How long will it take to complete the application?
In addition to the time it takes to write the personal statement, we recommend you allow 10-15 minutes to complete the rest of the application.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST COMPLETE THE APPLICATION IN ONE GO AS IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO RETURN TO THE FORM.
If you are successful in your application, you will need to keep the following dates free, to attend one of the summer schools to which you will be allocated a place dependent on your subject stream:
20th-24th July 2020 - Spotlight Summer School 1 (Subject streams TBC)
3rd-7th August 2020 - Spotlight Summer School 2 (Subject streams TBC)
